Christy Namondo Menyoli was born in British Southern Cameroons. Her love for creative writing was sparked during her elementary school days while writing letters for her maternal grandmother Yaya, to send to family members in distant lands. She moved to the U.S. in the early 1990's to study English, with the intention of returning to her hometown of Gbeya/Buea, at the foot of Mount Phako/Fako - the highest peak in West and Central Africa, to teach. An interest in becoming a Medical Reporter led her into pursuing nursing in 2009. Today, as a nurse, she finds fulfillment in providing clinically advanced, compassionate care to medically-complex and technology-reliant patients, while also pursuing her love of writing. Menyoli earned a BA in mass communications/journalism from Mankato (Minnesota) State University, and an MSN from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She lives in Chicago with her husband and two children.
