When I’m not crafting fantastical worlds or imagining daring adventures, you can usually find me curled up with a book, a cup of coffee, and my cat, Salinger. I’ve lived in Portland, Oregon, my whole life, so I’m well-acquainted with rainy days, lush forest trails, and cozy library corners. My hobbies range from the responsible (long runs through the woods) to the whimsical (Constructing elaborate obstacle courses with my kids for wind-up toys and timing their races). My debut series is a collection of four middle-grade fantasy novels inspired by my nieces filled with magic, mischief, and heart. I continue to write stories for younger readers, but I also write for adults. My forthcoming memoir, In His Absence, reflects on my brother’s life and our bond, exploring grief, meaning, and memory. Though different in tone from my fiction, it is rooted in the same desire to tell stories that matter.
