Christie Nicholls is a comedian, writer, and entertainer who loves bringing laughter and heart to everything she does. With a Master's in Theatre in Education from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and a PhD in Theatre and Performance Studies from UCLA, Christie blends her passion for storytelling with a deep understanding of performance. After a health crisis, a magical creature named Sloth arrived to help Christie and her family through a difficult time and taught them all how to be patient. Christie later wrote her debut children's book, Sloth Finds His Perfect Tree, which became Sloth’s origin story. Sloth, being silly, slow, and full of heart, quickly became a symbol of joy, healing, and patience. Christie has since written Sloth’s Totally Not Weird First Day of School, with a forthcoming title, Sloth Can’t Sleep, set to be released in the spring. With years of experience teaching kids of all ages, Christie loves reading to children, sparking their imagination, and sharing stories that make them giggle and dream big. Christie lives in Los Angeles with her husband, two kids, two dogs, a cat, and Sloth. When she’s not writing or performing, Christie is playing with her kids and the characters and friends who live with Sloth, and fitting in travel and everyday adventures whenever she can.
