Charles Heaton Allen started writing - instead of merely talking - because his high school & college students requested that he do so. He's now a retired history professor (graduate of Baylor University) who writes wonderful fictional tales of action, drama, pathos and humor. He has lived in many varied places (Alaska, Alabama, Georgia, California, northern England, Washington state, Texas, Mississippi and Arkansas) and these provide him with wonderful variables for settings and even characters. He says, "Writing fiction allows for more fun than straight historical documentation, but I employ actual events sometimes, of course."
