Cathleen has been writing stories since she was seven years old. That first story was called “Aunt Ant,” (pronounced awnt ant) and it was the story of an ant who was also an aunt! She has a B.A. in Creative Writing from Carnegie-Mellon University and and M.F.A. in Fiction Writing from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Along the way, she has held a lot of non-writing jobs that she hated and one or two she loved. Cathleen is married, with three mostly-grown children. She spends her days writing, walking her rescue dog, Zeke, and taking pictures of her cat, Scout. When she's not writing or enjoying her pets, Cathleen fosters feral kittens and does CrossFit because it's important to be both sensitive and strong.
