Casey Rae is an author, professor, musician, and Buddhist chaplain. He has designed and taught courses at Georgetown University and Berklee College of Music on copyright, digital disruption, public policy and the entertainment industries. His book William S. Burroughs & the Cult of Rock 'n' Roll, an exploration of the Beat writer's impact on music culture, has been translated into seven languages across eight editions. His upcoming book, Dead Dharma: The Grateful Dead and the American Pursuit of Enlightenment is published by Oxford University Press in 2026.
