Carol Schultz, founder and chief executive officer of Vertical Elevation, is a talent equity and leadership advisory expert. Recognized for her proficiency in corporate leadership, Carol has spent nearly three decades helping executives gain clarity in their careers and create a culture of performance for their teams through being empowered to make bold leadership moves. A firm believer in supporting executives to become more confident leaders, she has advised countless individuals and companies from seed stage pre-initial public offering to publicly traded companies. Carol has honed her industry expertise through developing an intrinsic understanding of successful recruiting and coaching processes. For many years, the industry standard began with a strong resume. While an individual’s background is an element of recruitment, Carol believes the candidate’s fit with company strategy and culture is the key building stone to impacting company performance. After earning a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Montana, Carol obtained a Master of Science in kinesiology from the University of Michigan. A St. Louis native, Carol moved to New Jersey following graduate school and settled there for sixteen years before relocating to Colorado in 2003. Carol channels her love for animals through fostering and adopting a small herd of cats. She balanced out the herd by rescuing her beloved Scout, an Australian Cattle Dog mix. When she’s not running Vertical Elevation, she spends her free time riding her horses, working in the garden, and enjoying all the outdoor activities that living in America’s playground offers.
