Grew up in a fast-growing resort city, Naples, FL. Now living in Bonita Springs, Florida. Attended University of South Florida 1976-1978. Attended Florida Institute of Technology 1978-1981. Graduated with BS degree in Aquaculture/Environmental Technology. Worked for Collier County Government as their Environmental Specialist, 10 years. Performed a wide variety of environmental duties, water quality testing and reporting, environmental compliance and restoration, sea turtle & other endangered species protections, urban landscape compliance with trees & shrubs, exotic plant removal, etc. Worked for the City of Bonita Springs as their Senior Environmental Specialist, 10 years. Similar duties as before, but more permitting, reports to city council, revised ordinances and codes, dock & shoreline permitting, oversaw large restoration programs, etc. Served on environmental boards and approved multi million dollar budgets, scientific studies, surveys, funded projects, etc. Performed some private environmental consulting for companies, such as wetland delineations, listed species protections, preserve management plans, permitting, gopher tortoise surveys and relocation, etc. Married. My wife and I raised 2 daughters, now in their 30's as of 2025. Retired, but still work one day a week as a property manager on Marco Island. Midlife - Took a 10-year hiatus to Research Triangle Park 1996-2006 to work in IT. Started The Business & Invention Center while there. Writing experience is all science related. Reports, studies, management plans, staff reports, etc. Became a practicing botanist in my environmental work, a certified arborist and owned a native tree nursery for several years. Obtained a few awards, kudos, and recognition in my environmental career. Avid sea kayaker throughout Florida and have ventured to Maine & Nova Scotia for week long ocean kayaking adventures. Love life, keeping up with science, my family, and now writing using current events as triggers in my writing. Member of the Sci-Fi Book Club, Ft. Myers, FL. Member of the Writers of the Weird Meetup group, Bergen Co. NJ.
