C.M. Stewart was born in Reno, Nevada. She studied at the University of North Texas and majored in photojournalism. Stewart studied at the University of Houston and earned a masters degree in social work. Stewart started writing in third grade when her sister and she created the Grannies, two crazy grandmothers who got up to even crazier anecdotes. Their stories and imagined games lead to the creation of multiple stories. While Stewart now spends most of her time advocating for social justice, she still continues to come back to writing. Writing has always been her main love, and she hopes her books will bring smiles to her readers' faces. Stewart has written science fiction with The Unknown and Reborn. She has also dabbled in romance and military with Faded Letters. Stewart's next books include the conclusion to the Generation Units trilogy, a romance novel, and a collection of non-fiction essays.
