I'm a semi-retired business owner and grew up in the cattle country of Southwest Idaho. With a name like Buck Sawyer, career options are limited. I'm too lazy to be a logger and not skilled enough to make a living as a cowboy, so had to settle for being a writer. Novels have been a decade long hobby. I published my first, Lorries Deal, in 2023. Hex, the first book in the Steens Mountain series, is set in the high desert of central Oregon. I live in the mountains outside of Boise with my wife Karyl.
