Brigid Lowe is the author of *Shiver: The Lessons of the Lochs*, a literary memoir about wild swimming, the Scottish landscape, and what it means for women to begin again. *Shiver* won an RSL Giles St Aubyn Award and has been featured on BBC Radio 4’s *Woman’s Hour*.
She is also the author of *The Bloody Branch*, a dark, feminist retelling of the Welsh Mabinogion, rooted in myth, landscape and the more-than-human world.
Brigid grew up in Wales and now lives in Edinburgh. A former academic, she studied at Oxford and was a Research Fellow at Trinity College, Cambridge. Her writing moves between fiction and literary non-fiction, with recurring interests in wild places, psychology, folklore, embodiment, nature, the awesome side of science, and recovery.
