Brian G. Myers (2000-) was born in Rockville, Maryland, and grew up in nearby Gaithersburg, Maryland. He began to write his first book "Greater than a Tourist: Gaithersburg, Maryland" in December of 2019, during the winter break of his first year studying at the University of Maryland. UMD's month-and-a-half-long break encouraged him to pursue the project so that he could keep up a sense of productivity over the weeks spent at home away from college. The book provided a greater solution for boredom when Myers continued to write during the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in the following year. At the age of 19, he published "Greater than a Tourist: Gaithersburg, Maryland" in May of 2020, fulfilling a goal he had to publish a book while still a teenager.
