I am the author of From Kisvárda to Canada: My Mother’s Holocaust Journey, a documented historical account of my mother’s survival of the Holocaust. The book is not a traditional memoir. It is structured around her recorded survivor testimony from the USC Shoah Foundation and supported by verified archival sources. It traces her life as a Hungarian Jewish teenager, her deportation to Auschwitz, forced labor at HASAG Altenburg, displacement after liberation, and eventual immigration to Canada. The focus is on factual accuracy, chronology, and preservation of survivor voice without fictionalization or embellishment. I undertook this work as both a son and a steward of historical record. My objective was to preserve a first hand survivor account in a form that is accessible, verifiable, and usable for education at a time when Holocaust distortion, denial, and antisemitism are increasing globally. The book is intended to serve as a permanent record, a resource for educators and institutions, and anyone who wants to know what happened. The book serves as a reminder that the Holocaust did not begin with camps but with the normalization of discrimination, silence, and exclusion. Its relevance today lies in demonstrating how quickly civil norms can erode when hatred is tolerated and truth is ignored. My work reflects a broader commitment to evidence based analysis, historical accountability, and ensuring that survivor testimony remains present and intact for future generations. The book is has new relevance given the rise in anti-semitism and Holocaust denial in a post September 7 world. If you choose to read it, I would very much appreciate any comments you might offer. #HolocaustEducation #NeverForget #BearingWitness #SurvivorTestimony #CombatAntisemitism #TruthMatters #JewishHistory #HistoryMatters
