Brad Franklin has been passionately serving as the lead pastor of Lakeside Church in Folsom, California, since 1987. He and his wife Donna started Lakeside using a surprisingly unique approach--telemarketing--launching them into a lifelong journey of serving Jesus together in the community they love. Brad's favorite aspect of leading the church is preaching, or what he calls storytelling. Jesus is a master storyteller--Brad aspires to be like him and believes God's calling in his life is to tell Jesus' story and the story of his church in this world. Before moving to Folsom, Brad served as a missionary in the Philippines and as a pastor in churches in Portland, Oregon, and Scott Valley, California. Brad has earned a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies from Westmont College, a Master of Divinity from Western Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry from Bethel Seminary. When not working, Brad plays as much as possible. He loves softball and golf, and is better at one than the other. He has a newfound love of camping and finds great joy in getaways to explore God's creation with Donna in their teardrop trailer. He is an infrequent blogger, occasional runner, amateur photographer, and a fan of adventure. He has jumped out of a plane that was not on fire and piloted an ultralight aircraft, only one of which he would like to do again. Brad and his high-school-sweetheart bride are proud parents of three grown kids--and two sons-in-law. They are particularly enjoying the fantastic journey called grandparenting, which Brad describes as, "Best. Thing. Ever."
