Billy Peterson has been in the financial services industry since 1996 after a rewarding career as a horseracing jockey. In 1995, the year before he retired, he led all jockeys nationally in Quarter Horse earnings. He worked for several multi-national investment firms before opening his own financial planning firm in 2009 – Peterson Wealth Services, Inc., which manages nearly 500 million in assets for clients across the country. Billy received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Texas at El Paso in 1995 and later obtained both the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) and Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA®) designations. He has been selected as a Forbes Best-in-State Financial Advisor six years and also has been named to the Barron’s list of Top Advisors in the Unites States. He has appeared in The Wall Street Journal online, KUTV-4 News, and his articles have been published in several national and local magazines. During his racing career, he was frequently featured on ESPN, TNT, TVG and other nationwide networks and radio shows. He serves on several local and national boards primarlly focused on the horse racing industry. His biggest accomplishments are being the proud father of five wonderful children and being married to the love of his life, Heather. He resides in Morgan, Utah with his family on their property known as Buck Way Ranch. He was head coach of the high school softball team for eight years, and teaches his children the value of hard work and financial freedom. He spends his free time raising and racing horses.
