Betta has been an award-winning journalist since 1989, having worked at newspapers in Denver, Seattle and Albuquerque, New Mexico. When she is not "noveling" as her sister used to say, she writes for a healthcare magazine and spends a lot of time on the golf course. She is the author of the award-winning mystery series featuring newspaper reporter Samantha Church: The Friday Edition, Revenge is Sweet, Dead Wrong, Cold Case, No. 99-5219, On the Border, The Long Way Home and Point of Origin. Dusk, the eighth book in the mystery series, will publish in late 2026. She also has published two works of award-winning contemporary women's fiction: An Invincible Summer and Last Things.
