Barry has been a Chief Data Officer for seven years. His passion for data comes from a strong desire to solve business problems and improve how organisations work. He has in the last five years specialised in creating the momentum for change around data in both large and small organisations. The key premise of the approach is about connecting an organisation. This is achieved through data by understanding, improving and managing the way organisations transact. Barry has long advocated changing the way we think about data. He has spoken at conferences globally with a strong belief that we need to change the narrative on data. "Collaboration is the new black", "fix forward" and "I dont believe in data governance" have been themes in his speaking to evoke debate and encourage new ideas. Barry has had an eclectic career which has allowed him to see problems from multiple views and in 2015 he started developing his approach to implementing data change differently. He believes data should be used for good and not just for profit and understands that to do this requires the momentum of leaders in many different organisations. You can connect, collaborate and challenge the narrative with Barry through LinkedIn and Twitter.
