Barbara Rein writes her nightmares. Her book of short story horror, TALES FROM THE EERIE CANAL, 22 STORIES OF THE DELIGHTFULLY DARK AND CREEPY, won the Florida Writers Association’s 2021 Royal Palm Literary Award for “Best Published Book of the Year.”

Barbara’s genre is a direct result of a childhood immersed in macabre fairy tales and endless episodes of Twilight Zone.

After graduating college, her first job as a fashion copywriter was short-lived due to her dark take on describing clothes.

A Floridian transplanted from New York, Barbara is obsessed with dachshunds. The long dog occasionally shows up in her stories, though more often on her sofa, bed, and lap.

Read, scroll, or listen—TALES FROM THE EERIE CANAL available in print, ebook and audio.
