Arthur Kerns received the 2025 Claymore Award for Best Investigator Novel at the Killer Nashville International Writers Conference. In addition, another of his works was honored as the Claymore Judges’ Top Pick in the Historical category. Kerns has been writing since his high school days. A former naval officer, he went on to serve with the FBI, specializing in counterintelligence and counterterrorism. Following his retirement, he became a consultant with the Director of Central Intelligence, a role that took him to more than sixty-five countries. His short stories and mysteries have appeared in several award-winning anthologies, and he won first place at the Cave Creek Film and Arts Festival. Diversion Books, Inc. published his Hayden Stone thriller trilogy—The Riviera Contract, The African Contract, and The Yemen Contract. His spy thriller Days of the Hunters was released in March 2020. His latest noir, Blood Moon Over Phoenix, the Claymore-winning manuscript, is currently with an agent. Kerns’ newest work, At Last Love, is a novella that marks a shift in genres—a heartfelt love story.
