A writer, blogger, speaker, and author of two memoirs, I’ll Be in the Car, One Woman’s Journey of Love, Loss and Reclaiming Life, and I’ll Have Some of Yours, a narrative about cookies and caregiving, Annette Januzzi Wick has covered a variety of subjects: creative writing, public interests and opinion pieces, aging and memory, food, and the Italian American experience. Her work has appeared in the Italian-focused publications of Ovunque Siamo, Italian Americana (winter, 2023), National Italian American Foundation Ambassor (Spring, 2025), Italy Segreta, and La Gazetta. She maintains robust relations with the Abruzzo region and with Cincinnati’s Italian American and food communities, while continuing her immersion in the Italian language. Her essays have also been published in Writer’s Digest, Creative Nonfiction, Soapbox Cincinnati, Edible Ohio Valley, Cincinnati Magazine, Next Avenue, 3rd Act Magazine, Belt Magazine, Still Point Arts, Action Tank Toolkit, Movers and Makers, and anthologized in Grief Becomes You, Before the Diagnosis, and the AlzAuthors Anthology. She blogs at Morning Finds on Substack. A daughter of Italian American parents with Abruzzese and Calabrese roots, Annette teaches creative writing at various regional arts institutions and non-profits, such as the Italian American Museum of Cleveland, Cincinnati Contemporary Arts Center and Lloyd Library and Museum. She and her husband Mark live in an 1875 Italianate-style home in Cincinnati’s Over-the-Rhine, where the original owners’ ghosts occasionally haunt her and her ancestors continue to whisper in her ear. When she’s not writing in Ohio, Annette can be found eating Dungeness crab in Oregon or moping around the house, eating celli, saying, Mi manca l’italia.
