In May of 2011, just a few days after my 71st birthday, WiDo Publishing Company published my first memoir, In the Mirror: A Memoir of Shattered Secrets, the story of my journey with a homosexual husband, the father of my children, and with an alcoholic husband, both deceased; and with a brain-injured daughter, Jen, who can't walk. I've been her full-time caregiver for over twenty-five years. I have four children and eight grandchildren. I grew up in Salt City, Utah but have settled in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Over the years I've taught literature at the college level, been a proofreader, tutor, and editor, and have published and won awards for stories, poems, and essays.
