Dr. Anke Elisabeth Ballmann is an educational scientist and is considered a visionary in education with love and heart. For three decades, she has been advocating for child-friendly learning and non-violent pedagogy. She is the founder and director of LERNMEER - Institute for Child-Centered Pedagogy, a lecturer at the Friedrich-Alexander University in Nuremberg, and the initiator of the Foundation for a Non-Violent Childhood. Over the past 15 years, she has worked in more than 700 childcare facilities, spending approximately 60,000 hours in consultations, training, and further education with educators, parents, and children. Her commitment extends beyond the well-being and rights of children. With immense courage, determination, and bravery, she takes a stand to enable children in their early years to have positive learning experiences, as these will shape them into adulthood. With tremendous enthusiasm, she champions approaches and projects that focus on and promote the joy and desire for learning across all age groups. Her moving lectures on her core topics have earned her the reputation of an innovative education expert. She sees in every adult the eager-to-learn inner child, waiting to rediscover the joy of learning. Her motto is: “Learning with body and soul.”
