Anghus Houvouras is an award-winning writer and filmmaker based in Wilmington, North Carolina. He first made a name for himself in the independent film scene as the writer and producer of the cult zombie film Dead Heist (2007), and went on to write the screenplays for Furnace (Genius/Weinstein), 20 Funerals (Swirl/Koch Lorber), and A Civilized World (Dark Days).

Alongside his film work, Houvouras has built a parallel career as a novelist, with books including The Dead of Winter, The Cocaine Zoo, and Forever Lost at Sea. The Dead of Winter, a horror retelling of Frankenstein set during the final days of World War II, was published by Raven Tale Publishing. The Cocaine Zoo, a novella following two CIA operatives chasing a hidden fortune on a dead drug lord's estate, was released through Severed Press.

He remains active across film, print, and theater, continuing to develop and produce new work.
