Andrew Brel was born in 1960 in Johannesburg to Greek parents, growing up in the Apartheid years of South Africa's racist religious right before emigrating to England aged 24. For the next 29 years Andrew lived and worked in London and surrounds before emigrating to a fourth nationality in California. Andrew is an auto-didact author and musician referencing life experience in both. His first book 'The Emergency Bouzouki Player' is a first-person account of the South African War of Apartheid, the Angolan Border War. An occasionally humorous, historically informed account of an anti-fascist anti-war atheist's two-year forced conscription in South Africa's White Christian Army. Brel's second book is a novel published in 2015 is a political thriller. 'One Day in Paris' recalls one year in the life of Dan Blake, a former elite soldier who is paid an enormous sum to mastermind an attack on Paris for the benefit of an unknown benefactor. The story explores the pathology of those profiteers working the Armaments Industry underpinning the Global economy. 'The Three Rs. The racist religious right and other short stories' is a compendium of 17 short stories about racist right-wing religious behaviors, published in 2020. 'Aunt Dorothy's visit and other short stories' is a compendium of stories including the only factual account of ascended master Krishna vardu Ghan. 'Half the Story Has Never Been told. Why We Lie': Is a historical account of Zionism and genocide, published in 2024. 'Adler v. Broulidakis (2015)' was released in February 2026. A thematic trilogy between autobiography, a historical overview of common law and the specific precedent set in the case of Adler v. Broulidakis. (2015.) Andrew has worked in music composition and production since first being paid to perform at age 15. Beginning in 2001 Andrew has written and produced many albums of meditation and wellness music, available on all streamed music platforms. In 2025 Andrew Brel Music wrote and performed two albums of new original music with singer Logan Twain. Many Andrew Brel books are available on Audible, narrated by Andrew Brel.
