Andrea Joy Moede is a recovering over-achiever who has traveled a long road of transformation. While she grew up in an amazing, believing family, she was ultimately left still searching for God. This was because she hadn’t yet made the shift from dutiful religion to passionate relationship. As a young person, she set out to conquer the world with full scholarships to Texas A&M’s business school and SMU’s law school. When law school didn’t quite fit the bill, she embarked on a career in accounting and finance at KPMG, Valero Energy, and USAA. She finally ended up spending time in an accounting PhD program at the University of Texas at San Antonio. During this period, she was running from God and trying to determine her own destiny, before finally realizing that life on His path was so much better than anywhere else. She came to this understanding during the unexpectedly quiet years of being a young stay at home mom. Now she is only determined to be a receiver of God’s love and provision and to follow wherever He leads. She is excited about helping people come into the fullness of both their identity and calling and believes that this is best accomplished by beholding God in all of His fullness first. When not writing, you can catch her busy with some of her favorite things – highly doctored coffee, endorphin inducing workouts, schmaltzy movies, long naps on rainy days, really good Italian food, coaching her kids sports teams, and sitting down with just about any book. She lives in the San Antonio area with her husband – Austen, their two busy boys, and their equally busy baby girl. They enjoy being a part of what God is doing at Bethel Austin and throughout the hill country. When not enduring the climate of South Texas, they all prefer to escape to the mountains.
