Amy is a writer, preacher, teacher, pastor and public theologian. She has been the pastor of churches in Washington, DC and New York. Amy grew up in Hawai'i (local girl!) and lives there now. When she’s not busy leading, teaching, preaching or writing, Pastor Amy enjoys the beach (obviously), and hanging out with friends. Pastor Amy is mom to three amazing young-ish adults who are each making their way in the world; they are her favorites. She played the cello in high school but that has absolutely no relevance to her current life. Her children would say that her status as a licensed motorcyclist is the direct result of a midlife crisis, but she disagrees. And Amy hates exercise with a passion, perpetually bitter about a metabolism that requires it. Most Sundays you’ll find Pastor Amy in the pulpit at Community Church of Honolulu, where she has served as interim pastor in 2023 and is serving as Designated Pastor for 2024 and 2025. CCH is an open and affirming congregation filled with people from all walks of life. Located in Nu’uanu, near Honolulu, the church worships on Sundays at 9:00 a.m. and online; everyone is welcome!
