Amanda Mander is a memoirist, nature writer, and artist whose work spans multiple publications and books. Her latest book, Wild Kin: Embracing Our Animal Family describes her ten year journey volunteering in wild animal reserves and wild places across five continents. Her Young Adult book, Wild Rescues: Amazing Stories from a Wildlife Shelter, casts teenagers as rescuers while weaving in lessons on co-living with wild creatures. Looking Twice: Beautiful Ugly, a poetry and photography collection co-authored with Deanna Marsh, explores how a second look can uncover beauty in what we dismiss as ugly, and unease in what we call beautiful. Her work also appears in the anthology Secret Histories: Stories of Courage, Risk, and Revelation, with another piece forthcoming in an anthology titled Metaphorphosis.
