Alondra Nelson is the Harold F. Linder Professor at the Institute for Advanced Study, where she leads the Science, Technology, and Social Values Lab. She previously served as Acting Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy and was the architect of the Blueprint for an AI Bill of Rights. Time named her to its inaugural list of the most influential people in AI, and Nature counted her among the ten people who shaped science globally. She is coeditor of The Future of Science Is Civic, Genetics and the Unsettled Past, Technicolor; co-author of Auditing AI; and author of The Social Life of DNA and Body and Soul. She lives in New York City and Princeton.
