Alli Spotts-De Lazzer, LMFT, LPCC, CEDS-C, IEDS, is a licensed psychotherapist, eating disorders expert, and Adjunct Faculty in the Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology program at Antioch University. She has nearly two decades of clinical experience treating eating disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. Since 2011, she has led a support and education group for parents and caregivers of people with eating disorders.

Alli is the lead author of My Child Has an Eating Disorder: An Essential Guide for Parents of Kids, Teens, and Adults (Bloomsbury Academic, 2026), for which she originated the concept and spearheaded the development of its content. She is also the author of MeaningFULL: 23 Life-Changing Stories of Conquering Dieting, Weight, and Body Image Issues (Unsolicited Press, 2021) and a contributing author to Body Image and Self-Esteem (Independence Educational Publishers, 2024). She writes the MeaningFULL column for Psychology Today, and her work has appeared in books, academic journals, and publications including Verywell Mind and Medscape. She is a frequent speaker at conferences and universities.

In addition to having held various leadership roles in the field, Alli currently chairs the Certified Eating Disorders Specialist Curriculum Committee. She is known for translating complex mental health topics into accessible, compassionate guidance. Her expertise has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, TIME, U.S. News & World Report, and Newsweek, and she has appeared on television news programs across the United States and internationally.
