Author Allen M Werner has lived in Wisconsin all his life and reads a lot of fantasy, history, mythology and astronomy books. As of December 2023, Allen M Werner has self-published five books in the epic fantasy series, The Crystal Crux. 1. Betrayal. 2. Blue Grotto. 3. Cold Knight. 4. Shimmer. 5. Beautiful. Several of these have a second edition version available and readers should check out the reviews written on the first editions to get a glimpse inside of these. Allen M Werner is a fan of Jack Whyte, JRR Tolkien, Michael Crichton, Lloyd C Douglass, R.A. Salvatore, Margaret Weis, Tracy Hickman, Joe Abercrombie, John Steinbeck, Alexandre Dumas, Peter V Brett, Herbie Brennan and George R R Martin. In his books, Allen M Werner focuses mostly on the internal struggles of his characters, often switching POVs to get inside each of the character's heads, rehashing old wounds and positive memories, fixating on their personal morals and deep-seated beliefs, on their insecurities and their faiths, as well as their dreams and their ambitions. He strives to make each character believable and human. Allen M Werner also released a prize-winning short article called The Grand Transition, which delves into the author's mind as he sat at the bedside of his dying brother, Michael.
