Alan is a reporter and editor based in upstate New York with a focus on oil, natural gas, petrochemicals, and nuclear energy. Creative writing is a hobby dating back to childhood and the most satisfying escape from reality. "The Philosopher's Last Rhapsody" is a criminal thriller set in Russia's isolated Kaliningrad region, formerly East Prussia, that explores the rise of Russian gangs in the 1990s and the underappreciated richness of Prussian philosophy. "Beware the Demons Betrayed" is the first of a four-part supernatural horror series. The second installment, "While the Witch Whispered a Prayer," was released in 2020. The third installment, "A Fair For the Phantoms," is in the conceptual stage. Alan's current project is "A World Full of Hagfish," a work of mainstream literature best described as metafiction with generous helpings of humor and insanity. With any luck, it might come to completion in 2022.
