Yeck is a former United States Marine, Special Intelligence Communications as well as an Information Management Officer in the U.S. Department of State, Foreign Service, Diplomatic Corps. He has lived and worked in Africa, Europe, Central America as well as 11 years in the Middle East. Alan also served 23 years in higher education administration for several two and four year institutions in the U.S. as well as overseas. As Director, Associate Dean, and Executive Dean he oversaw degree programs in business, engineering, health sciences, CIS, Graphic Arts, and graduate programs as well as workforce development training. Yeck is the author of the theatrical play, “2266” about the abandonment of American POW/MIAs during the Vietnam War; "A Line In The Sand" about the exposure of U.S. service personnel to chemicals during the Gulf War; C is for Corruption - An ABC Book of American Politics; and the author of “The Killing of American Higher Education,” about the corrupt student loan industry. The father of six and Baba of many more, enjoys all things outdoors; hiking, hunting, fishing, bad golf, great food, as well as live music, local artisans and the micro-brewery scene in western North Carolina. “Government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the Earth.” -Abraham Lincoln
