I'm Alan Breen, a Glasgow-based author with a head full of dark, twisted, and sometimes unexpectedly funny stories.

I only took up writing two years ago, after my mum passed away and I became a full-time carer for my 91-year-old dad. I didn't plan on becoming a writer – but the stories wouldn't leave me alone.

My work explores the shadows of everyday life, where ordinary people find themselves in extraordinary and often unsettling situations.

You'll find stories here about a single mum who secretly solves murders, the darker side of Glasgow's streets, and the strange things that don't quite make sense until it's far too late.

My writing blends crime, mystery and the supernatural, often with a sharp edge and a twist you won't see coming. Characters like Zara Morgan don't just walk onto the page, they stay with you.

This isn't just about books. It's about the journey behind them, the ideas that won't let go, the moments that spark a story, and the process of bringing it all to life.

None of this would have been possible without the love and support of my beautiful girlfriend, Louise, who has believed in me every step of the way.
