Agus Morales (Barcelona, 1983) is the co-founder and editor-in-chief of Revista 5W, an award-winning magazine covering global conflicts and human rights through narrative journalism. Before founding 5W in 2015, he was correspondent with the Spanish News Agency EFE in South Asia, where he wrote about social issues in India, the killing of Osama bin Laden in Pakistan and the Afghan war. He also worked as communications advisor for emergencies with Doctors Without Borders, focusing on humanitarian crises in the Middle East and Africa. As a freelance journalist, he has contributed to dozens of media outlets, among them The New York Times and The Washington Post. In 2019 he received the Ortega y Gasset Prize, the most prestigious journalistic award in Spain. He is the author of “We Are Not Refugees” and three other books, and holds a PhD in Comparative Literature.
