Aer-ki Jyr is the 'Jedi name' the author chose to use as his penname back when he started writing professionally in 2012. It was actually the name of a random Jedi in a fanfic he wrote, but he liked it so much he decided to steal it from himself. Contrary to various inquires, he is in fact American (lives in Indiana) and English is his first language. Apparently some people who looked at the name and were wrongly taught by English teachers to avoid long sentences assumed he was not a native English speaker. Also, the leading city or planet is 'capitol' not 'capital'. Don't trust online dictionaries and spellchecks. Aer-ki Jyr's work to date has seen over 1 million sales/borrows as well as a strong fanfic following for his Stargate: Return of the Ancients series that he wrote 30 episodes for and that fans still email him wanting more. He has also written two fanfic Battletech novels and has a standalone novel published through HarperCollins called 'Apex' that was supposed to be the start of another long space opera, but that small contact with the 'traditional' publishing industry soured him so much he's indie published everything since. Jyr's writing tends to long, complex, world-building storylines with a heavy dose of action, technobabble, and pretty much anything cool within the scifi realm that is applicable to space fiction. His stories are hard to describe (and hard to market) because they're original concepts in an industry that copies and pastes and expects everyone to do likewise. If you're looking for a quick adventure like The Martian, he's not the author for you. But if you like epically long tales about personal growth, empire building, and more wars than you can shake a lightsaber at, then this might be the author you're looking for. Jyr no longer has any social media accounts, (he has a blackbelt in Deadpool) but you can contact the author on his personal website where he has an email link and a forum for readers.
