Abi Olvera is a Senior Fellow at the Council on Strategic Risks and a board member of Rethink Priorities, where she focuses on emerging tech risks, particularly artificial intelligence and biosecurity. Abi is currently on sabbatical from the Department of State, where she serves as a Foreign Service Officer. Abi Olvera is a graduate of El Paso Community College, University of Richmond, and Yale University, thanks to generous scholarships and grants. Abi lives in Washington, D.C. Abi has spoken at multiple conferences globally, including TEDx ABQ, and has served as a director of several nonprofits on urban issues, voting reform, and road safety.
