Aaron Pufal is a podcaster, author, adventurer, and the founder of the ADV Cannonball Rally, a coast-to-coast motorcycle endurance event that draws riders from around the world. His debut book, *Chasing Legends: Motorcycle Stories from the Podcast Trail*, won the 2026 National Indie Excellence Award in New Non-Fiction, took first place at the BookFest Awards, won the IndieReader Discovery Award in the Sports category, and received the International Impact Book Award for Outstanding Literary Achievement in Biographies and Memoirs. The book was also named to *Motorcycle News* magazine's recommended reading list. As the host and producer of the ADV Cannonball Podcast, Aaron has built one of the most decorated independent motorcycle podcasts in the world. The show has won the DotComm Award, the MarCom Award, the AVA Digital Award, and the Communicator Award, recognition that reflects both the quality of the production and the calibre of the stories it tells. His work blends the authenticity of travel writing with the intimacy of narrative nonfiction, creating a bridge between modern adventure culture and timeless human stories. *Chasing Legends* grew directly from that work, bringing together the most compelling voices and journeys from his years behind the microphone. Before stepping into the world of podcasting and writing, Aaron spent over two decades as a professional yacht captain who sailed the globe, commanding vessels for billionaires, royal families, and heads of state across the Caribbean, the Mediterranean, the South Pacific, and beyond. That life of constant movement and far-flung ports gave him a sharp understanding of logistics, leadership, and human nature. The contrast between privilege and perseverance, between comfort and authenticity, runs through much of his writing and shapes the way he tells other people's stories. His sense of purpose has never been limited to adventure for its own sake. When Hurricane Matthew devastated the Bahamas, Aaron flew several relief missions into the islands, delivering the first aid supplies to reach the hardest-hit communities. While living in Washington State, he served as a volunteer firefighter and Emergency Medical Responder, answering the call whenever it came. When war erupted in Ukraine, he put himself on the front lines of the humanitarian effort, running body armor, field medical supplies, and intelligence into the country by day and training freedom fighters in battlefield medical techniques by night. As he recounted to Charley Boorman during their conversation about *Long Way Home*, the Apple TV+ series documenting Boorman and Ewan McGregor's motorcycle journey through 17 European countries, for Aaron that work was never separate from his identity as an adventurer. It was the highest expression of it. Today he channels that experience into the ADV Cannonball Rally, which has grown under his leadership into both a competition and a community, part endurance rally and part pilgrimage for riders drawn to challenge and camaraderie. The rally celebrates self-reliance, endurance, and the belief that the open road has something to teach anyone willing to stay on it long enough. Aaron is currently writing a novel that blends his love of adventure motorcycling with the intrigue of espionage and personal redemption. He divides his time between Canada, the Pacific Northwest, and the open road, chasing stories that explore the boundaries between man, machine, and meaning. The road, for Aaron, is not an escape. It is where life is lived most honestly.
