A. M. Portman lives in Michigan with her husband and two sons, where they own a 50-acre Hunter-Jumper equestrian facility. When not writing, she can often be found riding the grounds on her bay gelding, Dragon. Her interest in horses, studies in archaeology, and love of classic literature are reflected in her stories. The Legends of Andolin series began when the author's sister requested an original novel for her birthday. Taking inspiration from her favorite authors such as Kipling, Lewis, and Tolkien, Portman endeavored to craft a new tale filled with adventure, mystery, and a bit of romance, featuring unique and memorable characters. She is currently hard at work writing the next book in the Legends of Andolin series.
