The Theory of Constraints (TOC) has been successfully applied in almost every area of human endeavor, from industry to healthcare to education. And while Eli Goldratt is indeed a scientist, an educator and a business leader, he is first and foremost a philosopher; some say a genius.

He is a thinker who provokes others to do the same. Often characterized as unconventional, and always stimulating a slayer of sacred cows Dr. Goldratt exhorts his readers to examine and reassess their lives and business practices by cultivating a different perspective and a clear new vision.

In his latest book, The Choice, Goldratt once again presents his thought provoking approach, this time through a conversation with his daughter Efrat, as he explains to her his fundamental system of beliefs.(P)2018 Highbridge Audio Business Communication Career Success Decision-Making & Problem Solving Personal Finance Business Career Leadership Management

The book initially suggests that it explores how these principles apply to life and how to live by them, but none of the examples provided relate to people interaction. Instead, they are all business cases. While I appreciate that they were presented in a logical way, I found it difficult to apply them to my daily life. I believe some of his other books do this better.

I genuinely wish the book was more relatable because the philosophy seems sound. Considering his daughter is a psychiatrist, I would have thought she would have tested this philosophy against scenarios like a couples arguing about something or someone faced with a difficult decision but unfortunately she went deep on business

This book is messing all the elements of the other Goldratt books that make them so wonderful. I'm very disappointed. I believe the information is valuable, but can't get into it as it just feels like a droning on of the information.

Missing all the greatness of other Goldratt works.
