About this listen
Zayden
I thought I had everything I could possibly desire. Until I set my eyes on her. My angel. Too pure for this world, too pure for me. She’s all mine. No matter the cost. No matter the lives that stand in my way. She has always been mine. She just doesn’t know it yet.
Dominic
My brother has lost it, more so than ever before. I couldn’t figure out what had changed at first. One look at her though, and it all made sense. He gave me one job, protect his girl, a girl he’s never even spoken to. I held true to my promise and then some. I didn’t mean to kiss her, to touch her. One thing is for sure, though. I’m not losing her, even if I have to go through my brother to have her.

Sean Masters absolutely killed it with the male characters. The distinction between Dom and Zayden was always clear, both in tone and accent, which is especially impressive given how much time is spent with both twins. On top of that, he also voiced Maxim and several other male characters, and each one felt distinct. Cycling through that many prominent voices could have easily become confusing, but it never did. His performance added real depth to the tension and made the darker moments hit even harder.
Heather Firth was phenomenal as Blake. I have listened to more of her work than Sean Masters’, and she continues to impress every single time. She carries the emotional weight of Blake’s story beautifully, especially during the heavier and more vulnerable moments. Her performance made Blake feel real, raw, and deeply human.
Immersive reading was definitely the right choice for this story. The narrators elevated the material and added so much weight to the author’s work. This is a dark, emotional story, and the performances matched that intensity perfectly.
Highly recommend the audiobook for anyone considering this format, especially if you enjoy emotionally heavy stories that benefit from strong narration.
Outstanding narration that brings the story to life.
