I'm a pretty hardcore Dark "romance" reader, and more often than not find TWs to be exaggerated.. And even if the storyes are good even great.. The dark.. Is just not all that dark, and not for very long. This book, is Dark all the way through! The TWs is to be heeded... This is Not a romance... First time, I actually missed just a tiny drop of "sappyness"... This is a book for true DARK lovers... If you just like a little rough play in your Romance books... This one is not for you. But... For the rest of us ;) dive in.... Is Dark.. with capitals... D A R K. It was great...

What Lilliana goes through is nothing short of shocking but the internal battle she has with herself is honestly heartbreaking. And I loved every minute of this story. Coming from someone who has their own trauma I found this rather cathartic for me. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series. Chapter 38 absolutely broke my heart.

Magnus is dark and unhinged, he’s brutal and intense. But his change I didn’t think he was capable of.

His wife 😳😳 is the only response I have for this one.

I love ellie sanders, her books are fantastic & her writing quality is amazing. I downloaded this as I just don't have much time to read anymore to thought I could listen to my books as I do things. unfortunately the lady who reads this has such a bad way of reading that I haven't made it past the first chapter. her voice is actually grating & I can't hear anymore of it! I'm afraid I won't be wasting more money on any further titles with this reader. it's a real shame as I love this authors writing

I absolutely loved this audiobook. The Narrators Alyssa Avery and Matthew Sharpe did an amazing job bring these characters to life. The emotions and feelings put into the characters made me feel all the emotions while listening. This book is dark, so please check your trigger warnings

So, I don’t know what it says about me that I just binged-listened this book. But I loved it.

This is pitch black and very graphic. I would call it psychological horror.

Magnus Blake, our MMC, has no redeeming qualities. His morals are not even just black, they are non-existent. He does appear to have some loyalty to his family – but then again, you could say such loyalty ultimately serves himself. He is vile and inhuman to the bone.

Even so, or maybe because of that, I wanted to be inside Magnus’ head. I wanted to know his thoughts. After every disturbing and horrific thing he did, I wanted his POV. You almost crave a sliver of human emotion from him – and are you able to accept, if that never shows?

Liliana, our FMC, is fierce. The things done to her are unimaginable. Many of them carried out by Magnus. And her mind process throughout the book is devastating - and the evolution of her feelings towards him are mind boggling and ultimately heart breaking.

The worldbuilding and the plot are so good and kept me hooked. It makes me want to know more about The Brethren and their society in the next books.

I think this book is very well done. It twists your stomach and forces you to face your own reactions to the atrocities in here. It triggered me in every way - and I as the dark girlie I am, I thought it was great.

Please check the TW and please keep in mind that this is NOT a dark romance. There is NO romance in here - and the darkness is swallowed up by pure black. So if dark romance is what you were looking for – RUN.
