The sixth book in the bestselling Chronicles of St Mary's series which follows a group of tea-soaked disaster magnets as they hurtle their way around History. If you love Jasper Fforde or Ben Aaronovitch, you won't be able to resist Jodi Taylor.

What if the course of history was on your shoulders?

'To do what I do - go where I go - see what I see - it's a wonderful, unique, never-to-be-taken-for-granted privilege.'

With great privilege comes great responsibility, something Max knows only too well, and as newly appointed Chief Training Officer at the St Mary's Institute of Historical Research, it's up to her to drum this guiding principle into her five new recruits.

With a training programme that includes Joan of Arc, an illegal mammoth, a duplicitous Father of History, a bombed rat, Stone Age hunters and Dick the Turd, the question everyone is asking themselves is - what could possibly go wrong?

Zara Ramm brings these fantastic stories vividly to life. I'm gutted that there's only one more to go!

Utterly absorbing

Jodi Taylor and Zara Ramm once again deliver the life and comedy of Maxwell and Co. at St. Mary's. I just cannot get enough of this series and wonder what I will do when it ends?? Only one full length and two short stories left I believe.......gulp......more please Ms Taylor!!!!!

I've thoroughly enjoyed all of the books in this series so far and book six is no exception. Great fun, easy listening, well narrated. If you're looking for something that's not too heavy then this romp through history ( with a fair bit of artistic license) is for you. I just hope there are more to come.

Another great book in this series

What made the experience of listening to What Could Possibly Go Wrong? the most enjoyable?

Why tempt fate, hey? The people of St Mary's should know better than to ask - rather frequently - 'what could possibly go wrong?'
Max and Peterson and Markham travelling through time and lying to members of two police forces while observing history and righting wrongs.
This is yet another wonderful adventure filled with comic moments, it's fair share of tragedy and the ending...well, let's just say I suspected what was confirmed in the end.
Long live St Mary's!

I bought the first book not knowing what to expect as I'd never read any of Jodi Taylor's books before. I had hardly finished it before I bought all the rest in the series. The story telling is great and Zara Ramm's masterful performance brought it all alive - who ever chose her to narrate this series was inspired. If, like me you have never read any of Taylor's work before, and you're looking for something different, give her work a try. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
