A little odd not to hear Zara's voice, but Piers has the same sense of timing and 'gets' the jokes just as well. And Jodi can't do anything wrong in my eyes... Her writing is just sublime and I adore the St Mary's series. May it continue forever!

Great story in keeping with the style of Jodi Taylor and St Mary's. Funny and informative all at the same time. Fabulous!

As a dedicated Jodi Taylor fan I wait eagerly for her St Mary's Christmas short stories and this one certainly didn't disappoint! Have listened to it twice, already - sad, or what?? Piers Wehner did an unexpectedly splendid job too (only unexpected as I LOVE Zara Ramm's reading of the St Mary's stories SO much!).

Another lovely day out. But with a twist, it not Maxes this time.

Wonderful fascinating short story, for anyone at bedtime, or any other time.

I have loved this series. Going back in time to see what really happened, who could not be fascinated. The humour is real and wonderful and the characters all so different yet coming together as a brilliant team when up against it in the depths of an adventure.

I recommend you give this short story a listen, then search out all the previous full length Chronicles for a delightful escape into history with a small h.
