'A great mix of British properness and humour with a large dollop of historical fun' *****

BOOK 11 IN THE INTERNATIONALLY BESTSELLING CHRONICLES OF ST MARY'S SERIES

For fans of Richard Osman's Thursday Murder Club, Jasper Fforde and Doctor Who.

I would have trusted this man with my life. Until a couple of days ago, anyway.

You know what they say - hope for the best, but plan for the worst.

Max is quite accustomed to everything going wrong. She's St Mary's, after all. Disaster is her default state. But with her family reunited and a jump to Bronze Age Crete in the works, life is getting back to normal. Well, normal for St Mary's.

And then, following one fateful night at the Tower of London, everything Max thought she knew comes crashing down around her.

Too late for plans. The worst has happened. And who can Max trust now?

Can't remember when I have enjoyed a series as much as this. The unique voice of Jodi's sorry telling is compelling.
I really care about the characters and what happens to them.
Highly recommended.

Well, I wasn't expecting that twist.
There were a few (only a few?) bits that were a stretch too far

If you love St Mary's, this is another cracker. There are some surprises, some satisfactory resolutions, a lot of drama and a lot of fun! Enjoy.

Another good one

I've loved all of the books so far in this series. 11 in and still as entertaining as the first. This is the first one I've switched between Kindle and audible version, and have to say, Zara Ramm is absolutely perfect as narrator for this. I already have the next two books on my Kindle, and am seriously considering getting the audio books too.

excellent installment to a cracking series
