Lt. Joe Gunther of the Brattleboro, Vermont, police force has a serious problem: in a community where a decade could pass without a single murder, the body count is suddenly mounting. Innocent citizens are being killed - and others set up - seemingly orchestrated by a mysterious ski-masked man.

I wasn't sure what to expect with this being the first outing for this author or character. I was pleasantly surprised and found it difficult to put down.

Excellent narration, easy to follow but not unputdownable like other audiobooks. Characters were well rounded

A Refreshingly different plot, great narration and interesting characters all made this a great listen. Kept me listening and I got through really fast

It took me a while to get into this story but once I did it was a very well presented yarn, recommended.

The narrator was definitely better in this than my previous experience of him. Apart from some references to wars, the book didn’t seem dated although I think it was written in the 80’s. The characters were well drawn and likeable in the main. Although, even with all the energy / action Joe puts in sometimes the description of him seemed as though it was referring to a doddering old man! Otherwise, nice to discover a “new” author and series.

New author for me.
