A secluded Montana ranch.

A family under siege.

A seductive wife.

And Jack Widow.

Once Quiet is a taut action thriller where Widow must fight against his insatiable feelings for a married woman in order to stop a sinister enemy that lurks in the shadows.

Lately, Widow has enjoyed a quiet life on the road with no troubles, but a lifestyle like his costs money. A low bank account balance causes Widow to take temporary work on a dying, secluded cattle ranch in Northern Montana.

Widow works for the Sossaman family, taking orders from a hauntingly beautiful wife named Crispin. Quickly, Widow grows attached to Crispin and her two sons. The quiet family life suits him. But his attachment to her may be more than attraction.

Two strange things are going on around the ranch. The first is that the husband has been in a mysterious coma for 10 years. He's wired to hospital machines, feeding tubes, and a breathing apparatus.

The second thing is that someone is watching the ranch. Someone with sinister intentions. Someone with a dangerous agenda.

Fans of Lee Child's Jack Reacher, Tom Clancy, Vince Flynn's Mitch Rapp, and Mark Greaney's Gray Man will enjoy the Jack Widow action-thriller series.

Once Quiet is the latest thrilling mystery in the Jack Widow series. Listen to it today!

Must admit I am
Getting a bit bored of all the women he meets being “ the most beautiful woman he had ever seen in his life” 😴😴

Very good

I do enjoy listening to Alan Philip Ormond, he has a very good narration voice and brings the character Jack Widow to life.

In this book we find Jack believing he is heading in the direction he believes he has chosen. But his old boss has other ideas.

Jack ends up on a farm helping a family. In this book we find a bit more about his back ground and once romantic history and great loss. We see a softer side of Widow .

With the help of his old boss and with his own brain power, we see the bad guys get their comeuppance .

I enjoyed this book

This series might be regarded as a Reacher substitute - one of the better ones out there though not nearly as good as early Reacher. The plot is decent and narration is excellent. Relatively short and consequently a bit lacking in complexity and character development. The prose is not as crisp as Lee Child's but if you enjoy the " formidable ex special forces drifter stumbles across dodgy situation with worthy locals in peril" genre, you could do a lot worse with your audible credits than Jack Widow....

Reacher-like ex spec. ops drifter....

It wasent wat I expected but it did slow down a little but worth the listen from middle onwards

Fair
