I really enjoyed the way this planned out, never saw the protagonist coming and no ridiculous story lines. The narrator was easy in the ear. All in all, I’m glad I have found this series and am off to get book 2. After all my favourites (Ryan, Gallena, Logan McRae etc) I’m delighted to have a new series to listen to.

A decent DCI and psychologist story

All I can say is I wish I had bought the Kindle version! Only got to chapter six and couldn’t stand any more of the truly awful narration. Shame really it might have been good 🙁

Like a history teacher reading out the Kings and Queens of England!

I rashly thought this was the next instalment of DCI Lorimer - not so - it must be one of the earliest books only just read for audible. A good listen but for someone following the storyline very out of sync.

Beware this is an early story

Enjoyed it a lot even though I guessed who did it. The narrator was great.

Enjoyable

Excellent first tale in a series I expect to enjoy. strong characters, engaging storyline, moves along smartly enough to want to carry on listening. Bill is aided, reluctantly at first, by a psychologist profiler, who slowly grows on him. Together, they unravel a gruesome series of events, culminating in a showdown with the unexpected perp.

Great Intro to DCI Bill Lorrimer
