A case that's too close to home . . .

_________________________

The body of a young woman has been discovered in Bellahouston park, the second in a matter of months. It's clear to Detective Superintendent William Lorimer of Police Scotland that they have a repeat killer on their hands, who is sure to strike again.

Lucky for DSI Lorimer that his wife, Maggie, is miles away from potential danger, touring Scotland to promote her first book. Faced with strangers at every event, Maggie doesn't notice the quiet, non-descript man sitting in the back row.

But he has noticed Maggie Lorimer. And soon his will be a face she never forgets.

Whether you've read them all, or whether you're coming to Alex Gray's much-loved Lorimer series for the very first time, this is the perfect, page-turning winter read if you love Ann Cleeves, Val McDermid or Ian Rankin.

I am new to DCI Lorimer and can’t believe I haven’t listened to these stories yet! Loved the plot and the characters and their relationships. There is much of life in this book that uses the detective genre as a vehicle for exploring complex issues that resonant. I shall be listening to a lot more of Alex Gray

Fantastic story

another good novel in the series, although it was a easy guess as to who was the killer from about half way through.

I have read all the Lorimer novels by Alex Gray. This is my first listening experience and I was initially hesitant but I absolutely loved it . The narration was first class and I was completely immersed in the story.

Fantastic storytelling and narration

Narration has been poorly edited . Words repeated in several places. Not the standard I have come to expect.

Disappointing.

I really enjoyed the previous books by Luca Veste and this began well. unfortunately it became too strung out and 30mins before the end of the book I gave up not wanting even to persevere and find out what happened. That says a lot! I got bored with it. Not like me at all as I really try to finish a book getting so far through it.

dragged on too long
