A Warhammer 40,000 Audiobook

Archmagos Belisarius Cawl invites representatives from across the Imperium, hoping to secure their assistance in unlocking the secrets of the pylon network. Among the attendees, however, is an uninvited guest who may possess the only mind in the galaxy greater than that of the fabled Archmagos…

LISTEN TO IT BECAUSE

The showdown of two much-loved characters finally occurs – Fabius Bile vs Belisarius Cawl. Each is a genius in their own right, and both are willing to do things most others won't to achieve their goals.

Which of these two megaminds will come out victorious?

THE STORY

In the hope of taming the Great Rift that divides the galaxy in two, Archmagos Belisarius Cawl invites representatives from across the Imperium to the artificial world of Pontus Avernes. Confident he can convince them of his genius, he must secure their assistance in unlocking the secrets of the pylon network – significant structures built by an ancient race that he believes can stave off the pull of the warp. But among the attendees is an uninvited guest: Fabius Bile himself.

The Pater Mutatis needs no validation of his genius and has his own agendas, the pursuit of which will bring about an epic confrontation of the galaxy’s greatest scientific minds – and from which only one can emerge victorious.

Guy Haley is a seasoned veteran of Black Library now, and he delivers the much anticipated encounter between two of the 42nd millennium's most distinctive personalities with eloquent aplomb. There's probably a bit less "shoot-chop-smash" than some readers may want, but the well-crafted character building and universe development more than make up for it. The debate between the two main characters is especially well crafted and delivers new perspectives on their motivations. There's the occasional bit of padding here and there, but even the padding is usually well done.

Banks is a talented and versatile narrator that does a great job with all the 40k books, and this is no exception.

Strong blend of characters plot and action.

A good tale about the similarity between two opposing champions. Good to see the moustache twirling Bile have Cawl dance to his tune.

Disappointed in a lack of Fabulous Bill

Tsundere necron gf is a 10/10. Felt like the loyalists didn’t really die much. But i’ll always enjoy cawl antics.

I now have enough description of alpha primus to make a mini of him
