Eleven-year-old Bee dreams of having a cat, but her dad is terrified of them, her twin brother is busy with wacky inventions, and her mom is halfway around the world studying Komodo dragons. Everything changes when Bee discovers her magical talent for taming cats with a simple, slow blink. Her gift brings her to the Cat Adoration Club, where she gets the job of fostering The Yowler, a ferocious kitten with a big attitude.

A cat that boys are chasing for fun is killed when it gets run over. Then the boys are kept up at night by unknown eerie yowling. They find a snake, rat and dead bird in their homes. They get scratched by invisible claws and cat prints appear on tables.
